MCAT Information

The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized, multiple choice test designed to review problem solving abilities. Writing skills and the examinee's knowledge of science concepts and principles prerequisite to the study of medicine are also analyzed. Scores are reported in the following areas: Verbal Reasoning, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Writing Sample.

A composite score of 30 or higher, combined with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, is competitive when applying to most medical schools.Balanced scores (i.e. 10/10/10) are generally more desirable as well.

NOTE: The MCAT is due to change in 2015, adding sections regarding psychology and sociology. The last old exam is January 2015, so plan accordingly!
